The Box
The magic of the box closing mechanism stems from the desire to protect the book without hiding its cover and refined finishing. This intent is obtained thanks to a plexiglass plate linked to the box through a magnetic fastening.
The Block & Cover
Spine and back are in leatherette while the covering of the front panel has two options:
- Matte laminated photographic paper, with a printed image
- Leatherette in one of the 40 available colours. The colour overprinting, also with raised varnishing, offers additional customisation solutions.

Domestic Photo Albums
Flush mount albums differed from regular photo books by being hand mounted on thick inner substrate with real silver halide photo paper. Flush mount albums get their name from their difference with traditional matted albums. In flush mounts, the entire page is a photographic print that runs edge to edge or Flush with the borders of each page. These prints are commonly a matte finish and are printed with the same exacting color, ink and archival paper standards of fine art prints. Basically you have museum quality prints mounted and bound in a book.
Silky Matte Paper

Neo-Flushmount albums are printed on a 270 GSM paper
Flushmount albums are printed on a 320 GSM paper
Continuous Absolute Lay-Flat
Books are bound in such a way that there is no seam at all in the middle, so no part of the image is lost at all and flows seamlessly across your pages. These have facing pages (two-page spreads) that are printed on one continuous sheet, there is no gutter or break in the center. There will be a slight crease in the center because, after all, you need to be able to close the book.
Absolute Lay-Flat
Books have a hinge in the binding that enables the pages to lay flat, but there will be a tiny gap in the center, usually about 1/16” and it really doesn’t interfere with the spread. The paper will be sturdy enough to lay flat

High Quality Matt Boards
Acidic vs Acid Free Matt Boards
There are two main types of mat material: acidic, and “acid-free”. Older mats (wood based paper) are typically acidic, because acid-free paper was not widely available or marketed until recent years.
The difference is important for the long term protection of the piece because acidic mats can cause what is called mat burn, brown marks that creep in from the outside onto the displayed piece itself. While mat burn is sometimes reversible through cleaning the piece, cleaning may not be feasible if the piece was executed in water-soluble inks or paints, such as water color.
Why are acid free matt boards important?
The problem with acid is that it migrates. Once it seeps out of an acid bearing material it can contaminate anything it comes into contact with. Regular mat board is made of wood pulp based paper. Untreated regular mat board could be a threat to the print it is in contact with. All paper mat board manufactured for picture framing is put through a bath of calcium carbonate to neutralize it against the acidity that occurs when lignin, the binding polymer in wood, breaks down.
